ABOUT US
Arlan and Nicole grew up in the ranching business on their families' farms. In 2008 they decided to move to White Earth and join Arlan’s parents' operation. The Andersons run commercial Black Angus cattle. The cattle rotate through native grass pastures in the White Earth Valley from May to November; no creep feeding is done. Their focus has always been calving ease, maternal traits and good disposition.
In 2011 the Andersons were presented with an opportunity to get into registered Gelbvieh. Although this was an opportunity for them, it came with the loss of a dear friend and neighbor. In January they purchased Clarence and Rose Person’s registered Gelbvieh herd. Clarence held the same philosophies the Andersons hold when it comes to cattle. The Gelbvieh mimic their herd with the calving ease, maternal traits and the good dispositions they were after. The Mill Iron C Ranch hopes to continue to enhance the traditions in cattle that the Persons started.
Both the registered herd and the commercial herd calve in March and April and wean November first. The Mill Iron C Ranch bulls have been marketed private treaty using direct mailing as a primary marketing tool. The Andersons plan to continue this marketing procedure in the future.
